Property status
Shortlisted · Not yet secured
Copay is assessing this home and has not secured it. Copay may decide not to proceed.
How owning with Copay works.
You do not buy the whole property. A small group of buyers shares genuine ownership of this one holiday home, and Copay coordinates the management of it.
1
You own part of the home
The home would be held through a trust set up for that one property, with a corporate trustee holding the legal title. You hold units in that trust, recorded on the unit register, and the co-ownership agreement sets out how usage, costs and selling work. This is ownership of a specific home, not points, not a membership and not holiday access.
2
A group of up to 8 owners
You do not need to find other buyers. Copay brings the ownership group together, up to a maximum of 8 owners for this home, and every owner signs the same agreement. You never have to persuade friends or family to buy in with you.
3
Time at the home each year
Your time at the home each year is set by the size of your share, and the share being considered for this home is 1/8. You plan your dates through the owner schedule, and the agreement sets out how the busiest periods such as school holidays rotate between owners, so the same owner does not take them every year.
4
Copay runs the property
Cleaning between stays, maintenance, repairs, insurance, rates, bookings and the trust administration are coordinated by Copay under the management arrangements. You arrive, and the home is ready.
Two minutes on how managed co-ownership works, with Copay's founders.
What an owner pays
Three groups, each set out in writing for the specific home before you decide.
- Buying your share
- The costs of buying into the home: your share of the purchase price, stamp duty and taxes, legal costs, and preparing and furnishing the home for co-ownership. The cost schedule for each home sets out the amounts and which of them are charged together. Your own independent professional advice is separate.
- Each month
- The Property Operating Levy includes the Copay Service Fee and your share of the home's operating, management and maintenance costs, as specified for the home.
- After a stay
- Professional cleaning fees may apply. Damage for which you are responsible may also involve charges, including applicable insurance excesses and uninsured costs, under the relevant agreement and insurance terms.
No payment is required to enquire or register interest. Figures for a particular home are published on that home's page only once they are settled and approved.
If you want to sell later
You can sell your share. The co-ownership agreement sets out the process, which gives the other owners in the home the first opportunity to buy it where applicable, and Copay helps bring the share to market if they do not.
- You decide
- When to sell, and what price you are willing to accept.
- Other owners first
- The agreement gives the existing owners of that home the first opportunity, where applicable.
- Then the wider market
- If they do not take it, Copay assists in finding a buyer for the share.
A sale is not guaranteed. Finding a buyer, the price achieved and how long it takes all depend on market conditions and demand at the time. Copay does not buy shares back and does not guarantee a buyer, a price or a timeframe.

What an owner pays.
Purchase costs for this home are not yet confirmed, because Copay has not secured it. The structure of what an owner pays is settled, and it is set out here in full.

If this home progresses, the figures for it are published against these same groups before any purchase decision.
What you would own.
If Copay proceeds with the property, the home is held through a unit trust set up for this one home, and the corporate trustee of that trust holds the legal title to the property.
You would hold units in that trust, recorded on its unit register, and the co-ownership agreement sets out usage, costs and exit. You are registering interest in ownership of this specific home, not points or temporary holiday access.
If you want to sell later.
You can sell your share. The co-ownership agreement sets out the process, which gives the other owners of this home the first opportunity to buy it where applicable, and Copay helps bring the share to market if they do not.
You decide when to sell and what price to accept. A sale isn't guaranteed, and timing depends on market conditions and buyer demand.
